”His arm encircles me, and mine, and all.”

The members of this Christian Science Society welcome all visitors and newcomers to our services.
We are one of the worldwide branches of The Mother Church, the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, founded in 1879 by Mary Baker Eddy, who wrote the Christian Science textbook, Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures.
Just arrived: the handy Student Edition of Science and Health, and,“Continuing Evidence of Christ-Healing”- see below

Our Sunday morning service includes a sermon, prayer, and the singing of hymns and a solo. As ordained by Mary Baker Eddy, the Bible, and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, are our Pastor. Each weekly Bible Lesson sermon is available for study in advance of the service. The same sermon is delivered in Christian Science churches around the world.
Our Sunday church services and Sunday school (for students up to the age of 20) are held simultaneously every week throughout the year.
Sunday school students are taught from the Scriptures and the Christian Science textbook. Sunday school helps young people understand the spiritually inspired Word of the Bible and how to apply the practical divine laws of Christian Science to their daily lives. Younger classes focus on basic teachings such as the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, and familiar Bible stories. Older classes use a question-and-answer format based on the Weekly Bible Lesson Sermon and adapted to their needs.

In addition to Sunday services, Christian Scientists worldwide gather together on Wednesdays for testimony meetings. These meetings include hymns and readings from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook. Following the readings, those in attendance may continue in quiet prayer, voluntarily give gratitude for instances of spiritual healing, or share insights gained from their study and practice of Christian Science.

The Reading Room and Lending Library offer you the opportunity to read, borrow, or purchase the Bible and Christian Science literature… (including the Christian Science Monitor, an award-winning international news magazine). The librarian will be happy to answer your questions about Christian Science.

Christian Science was first made known in Northampton by a case of healing which took place here in 1885 through the work of one of Mary Baker Eddy’s students who came to this city, established a healing practice and taught. By the end of the 19th century, a small band of earnest students of Christian Science were holding weekly meetings. In the Spring of 1898, the first public meetings began to be held, and by November permanent public services were established. A Sunday School was instituted, Wednesday evening testimony meetings were conducted, and a Christian Science Reading Room was opened to the public with free lending and sale of Christian Science literature. The building was completed by the end of the winter, and the first service, which was well attended, was held on March 22, 1908. Services have been held on a continuous basis since that time.
